As for why that number has increased further, I think there has always been a struggle between the Original My Friends Avengers Thank You For The Memories Shirt and I love this creative but hopeless Wilson Brothers and the square but professional Jardine/Love/Johnston axis. Even more complex arrangements like in “I Get Around”, with two drums, three keyboard sections, three guitars and at least two bass lines and a sax can work quite well with a quartet.
